Firsthand Tips From a Home Seller (Me!)
Today I want to talk to you about what it feels like to be a home seller. Right now, I’m actually selling my home, so I know first-hand what it feels like and exactly what is going on. I’m going to share a little bit of my experience with you.
Why did I choose to sell now? The biggest reason is that interest rates are low, values are high, and I think that’s going to adjust. I’m putting my money where my mouth is and cashing out now.
I’m a pretty reasonable seller and I priced my home appropriately. I made sure everything looked nice, I updated a few things here and there, and presented the home well.
During the inspection, they found that there was a structural issue with the tresses. It needed to be addressed and the cost to repair it would be pretty significant. I talked to the agent who was selling it, I told them I would take care of whatever the problem was. I decided to face it head-on instead of backing out. I’m still in the process of figuring it out, but it looks like escrow won’t be delayed and it looks like the HOA is going to cover the repairs.
It frazzled me for a little bit, I won’t lie to you. However, once I took a deep breath and put things into perspective, I felt a lot better. I understand the stress that a lot of you have gone or will go through.
It’s really important to keep your mindset right throughout the selling process, and I love helping home sellers do just that.
Selling a home can be a great life event, but it can also be very stressful. If you have any questions about the buying or selling process, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
